Principal's Message
August 1st, 2023
Dear Pasadena Families,
Welcome new families and returning Pasadena families! I hope you all had a fun filled summer break! It is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another exciting year. I look forward to working with you as a partner to make this school year enriching for all students. I am looking forward to a collaborative partnership. I invite you to engage in a variety of opportunities like PTO, School Site Council, and Field Trip volunteers. We understand not all can lend a hand during the school day. Other opportunities to support your child can be by helping your child be prepared, on time, and well rested each day, reading with your child, and engaging in conversation about their school day. I am thrilled for the 2023-2024 academic school year. My staff and I look forward to seeing our students on the first day of school, Thursday, August 10th.
This year our school hours continue to stay the same. Hours for M, T, W, and F will be from 7:45 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. On Thursday's the hours will be from 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Breakfast will be from 7:15-7:35, please make sure students are not on campus before 7:15, there will be no supervision. Here at Pasadena, we do our morning walk from 7:35 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. Students will line up at their classroom number marked on the blacktop when the bell rings. Teachers will pick them up and walk them to class. TK & K students will be picked up from the cafeteria at 7:45 a.m. and will be walked to the classroom.
This year both drop-off and pick-up will be a drive through process. To make it a speedy process and minimize the wait time, I ask you to stay in your car. If you would like to walk onto our campus for drop-off or pick-up, find a parking space in our parking lot if available or off campus. Our times are staggered, and it is important you come early to find a parking space of campus. Your patience and cooperation are key for favorable results. It is essential that you follow directions as SAFETY is a priority! I ask that you do the following: use the crosswalk, drive the speed limit when driving through our parking lot and around the school, keep your radio down, stay off the phone, and be respectful and follow employee directions.
In order to keep up to date with all that happens at Pasadena I invite you to check out our updated website, read the marquee next to my office door, listen to my phone call announcements, read flyers that go home, read newsletters sent via email, get connected with our parent liaison, and/or stop by the office for any information questions. Parent handbooks are completely electronic this year. Please complete the annual student information through the Parent Portal to update emergency contact information, acknowledge receipt of the handbook, and complete the school funding form.
Respectfully,
Mirna Pelayo
Principal
